Biography:
Dr. Damien Thuau is an Assistant Professor in the Organic Electronics and Microsystems Research group at Integration du Matériau au Système (IMS) laboratory within the School of Sciences and Technology at Université de Bordeaux, France. After his Master of Sciences (M. Sc.) degree in Nanotechnology & Microsystems from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, U.K. (2007) he obtained a Ph.D. degree in microsystems and microfabrication from the Institute for Integrated Micro and Nano Systems at the Scottish Microelectronics Centre, Edinburgh University,Scotalnd, U.K. in 2012. Prior to his current appointment, he held 5 years of postdoctoral fellowship at Université de Bordeaux working on printed microsystems for sensing applications. His current research interests focus on the integration of functional materials into biomimetic structures to develop micro and nano mechanical systems (sensors and actuators) with applications in wearable electronics, energy harvesting and soft robotics.
